I was born and raised in Atlanta and
am a proud graduate of Walton High School. I attended George Mason
University in Fairfax, Virginia where I earned my BA in English. I
worked in the private sector for a few years and realized that I was
tired of working for other people making them lots of money and
getting no real rewards from it. I decided to go back to graduate
school full time and eventually earned my MEd at Georgia State
University. After teaching for seven years in both Fulton and Cobb
County, I have decided to pursue a career in administration. I am
currently pursuing leadership certification and hope to be well on
my way to a career in administration in the next couple of years.
I have been married for over three years to my husband who is a
teacher and coach at North Cobb High School. We have a little girl,
Abigail, who will be two in April 2005. My husband and I love to
work out and take long runs with Abigail in the jogging stroller.
We have two dogs, Ozzy, a pug named for the show The Ozbournes, and
a miniature pinscher, Herschel, named for Herschel Walker, the
greatest football player to ever come out of UGA. On my own time, I
love to read classic literature, and my favorite author is Charles
Dickens, who is by the way, my great, great, great....uncle
somewhere down the line (my maiden name is Dickens). I'm very proud
of this fact! My favorite book of all time is A Tale of Two
Cities.
